Hello

Meet Your Osteopath: Antonia May, M.Ost

Pregnancy and postpartum can be some of the most transformative times in your life, and also some of the most physically and emotionally challenging.

If you're feeling discomfort, unsure about your body, or simply in need of support, you're not alone- and you don't have to navigate it by yourself.

My work is dedicated to supporting women through pregnancy, birth preparation, postnatal recovery, and beyond, helping you feel more comfortable in your body, more confident in your choices, and more supported every step of the way.

My approach combines hands-on osteopathic treatment with education and guidance, so we're not just easing symptoms, we're helping you understand your body and feel empowered within it.

This work is deeply personal to me. After my own experience with a difficult birth and postpartum recovery, I saw firsthand how much better support women truly need during this time. That experience shaped the way I practice today -  with empathy, honesty, and a whole person approach to care.

Alongside supporting pregnancy and postpartum journeys, I continue to welcome patients of all ages and backgrounds, always with the same focus: to help you move better, feel better, and feel truly supported in your health and wellbeing.

A Little About Me

I graduated in 2021 with an integrated Master’s Degree in Osteopathic Medicine from the University of St. Mark & St. John (Marjon’s). After completing my studies, I began my career as an associate in a multidisciplinary practice in Devon, where I had the opportunity to refine my skills and deepen my knowledge.

In April 2022, I founded Tamar Valley Osteopathy, driven by a desire to bring the remarkable benefits of Osteopathy to my own community. Since opening Tamar Valley Osteopathy, I have been privileged to treat a diverse range of patients, addressing conditions that range from pregnancy-related aches and pains to lower back issues, shoulder and neck discomfort, and general joint pain.

I am committed to ongoing professional development and have completed advanced training across both physical and mindset-based approaches to women's health. This includes Osteopathy during pregnancy and Postpartum, Women's Abdominal Visceral Mobilisation, Internal Pelvic Floor Assessment, and Mummy MOT Practitioner training, alongside qualifications in Hypnobirthing and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).

This combination allows me to support not just the physical changes of pregnancy and postpartum recovery, but also the mental and emotional experience that comes with it. My approach is always tailored to you as a whole person, so you feel informed, supported, and confident in your body throughout each stage.

When I’m not in the clinic, I cherish spending time with my family. Being a mother to my two girls is a true joy and passion of mine. I also love to unwind by swimming, reading, running and exploring the stunning Devon and Cornwall countryside with my Springer Spaniel, Kit.
