Hello
Meet Your Osteopath: Antonia May, M.Ost
Hi, I'm Antonia, a registered osteopath specialising in women's health.
I support women in understanding their bodies, easing pain and tension, and feeling more confident in how they move, recover, and care for themselves.
Many of the women I work with are balancing full, busy lives, and somewhere along the way, they have become disconnected from their bodies or unsure of what they're feeling and why.
My work is about helping you slow that down, tune back in, and feel more at home in your body again.
My approach combines hands-on osteopathic treatment with education and guidance, so we're not just addressing the symptoms; we're exploring the root cause and how your body is functioning as a whole.
I take a whole-person approach to care, recognising the connection between the body, mind, and your overall wellbeing. Because when one area is under strain, it often shows up elsewhere.
Alongside supporting women at all life stages, I have a specialist interest in pregnancy, birth preparation, and postnatal recovery, offering specilist serves that are tailored, supportive and help you to understand the unique changes your body goes through in this phase of life.
My focus is always the same - to help you feel supported, understood, and more at ease in your body.
A Little About Me
I graduated in 2021 with an integrated Master's degree in Osteopathic Medicine from the University of St Mark & St John, and began my career in a multidisciplinary practice in Devon, where I developed my clinical skills and experience working with a wide range of patients.
In 2022, I founded Tamar Valley Osteopathy with a clear intention - to bring a more supportive, holistic approach to women's health into my local community.
Since then, I've supported women through everything from pregnancy-related discomfort and postpartum recovery to ongoing pain, tension, and symptoms that don't feel right within their bodies.
I'm deeply committed to ongoing learning, and have undertaken further training in areas including pelvic health, pregnancy and postpartum care, women's health, and mind-body approaches such as hypnobirthing and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).
This allows me to support you not just physically, but with a deeper understanding of how your body and mind work together. My approach is always centred around you as a whole person, so you feel informed, supported, and confident in your body every step of the way.
Outside of the clinic, I'm a mum to two girls, and I love to spend time outdoors - whether that's running, swimming, reading or exploring Devon & Cornwall with my springer spaniel, Kit.
